Then we believe you will thrive with us. Statistics Sweden (SCB) is the country's largest and foremost source of knowledge in statistics. Our statistics are used everywhere, at home at the kitchen table, in news reporting, and by decision-makers in the parliament and government.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Are you an agronomist with a focus on soil/crops interested in providing society with agricultural and environmental statistics? With us, you will belong to a team of 20 dedicated colleagues in Örebro and Stockholm who aim to describe a constantly changing Sweden regarding agriculture, environment, fishing, and energy.
You will work together with your colleagues to produce statistics in the agricultural and environmental field in the best possible way. Harvest statistics are produced on behalf of the Swedish Board of Agriculture, and other agricultural and environmental statistics are produced on behalf of the Chemical Agency and on our own initiative, as well as within the Swedish Environmental Emissions Data on behalf of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. We need you to contribute with your agricultural knowledge, e.g., about the cultivation of cereals, forage, and potatoes, as well as the use of fertilizers and plant protection products.
The statistics you produce are used for assessing food supply, contingency planning, monitoring environmental goals, and international reporting, and they form the basis for political assessments and decisions. The statistics are used as a basis for public debate and for analysis by researchers, authorities, and international organizations.

- contribute to and be responsible for harvest surveys and other agricultural surveys, e.g., regarding the use of plant protection products and fertilizers and cultivation measures
- participate in calculations and development work regarding greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution from the agricultural sector
- plan, follow up, and coordinate various surveys
- participate in ongoing improvement and development work in various surveys
- have contacts with other statistics-responsible authorities such as the Swedish Board of Agriculture, the Chemical Agency, and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency
- contribute to international reporting

QUALIFICATIONS
We want you to have:
- Agronomy degree with a focus on soil/crops.
- Experience in working with official statistics production in the agricultural field.
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
We consider it meritorious if you have:
- Courses in statistics.
- Subject-specific courses relevant to the area of statistics.
- Knowledge of fertilizers and plant protection products.
- Experience in data collection for statistical purposes.
- Experience in project management.
- Practical experience in agriculture.
- Experience in environmental work.
- Good knowledge of the Office suite.
- Knowledge of script-based programs like SAS and SQL.

At the same time, you easily adapt to new conditions and have the ability to reprioritize when needs and conditions change. You are flexible and can switch between tasks.

OTHER
This position is available in the section for agriculture and energy in Solna or Örebro. Depending on the operational conditions, there is also the possibility to work some time from home.
The employment is permanent and usually starts with a six-month probationary period. The start date will be agreed upon.
